I would like to give a review of Wagra Beef @ Bendoc, East Gippsland. Fine premium grass-fed beef, absolutely delicious, great texture and flavour, just melts in your mouth.

Best animals in the paddock and on the plate. It’s obvious that their happy lives make happy calves that make meat that you just can’t walk past. So delicious even before bothering to add any flavours and seasonings. I’m a Wagra beef lover through and through!


Best grass-fed beef in Australia

Pensioners as we are and needing to watch expenses, we purchase half a Wagra Dexter at a time at a very reasonable cost. We not only save money by buying in bulk, but we also get the best grass-fed beef in Australia. We order in advance and choose how we want our meat packaged.

The quality of Wagra beef extends from the texture and grain through to the flavour and precision cut. I love knowing that our beef had a happy and purposeful life, and that every care is taken with their health and well-being from the moment they are born to the moment they fulfill their ultimate purpose. On a scale of 1 to 10, Wagra beef rates 15 or 16

We have been big beef eaters all our lives. Recently (about the same time as we bought a side of your Dexter cattle) we have discovered the joys of “small” beef.

On a scale of 1 to 10, we are thinking the meat rates somewhere in the vicinity of 15 or 16.

Texture, taste and “tenderability” rate better than anything we have eaten before. We’ve eaten Wagyu in the Ginza, Texas tenderloin in the States and genuine Steak Tartare in the streets of Paris. (actually in a dodgy French restaurant in an alley in Melbourne)

All the cuts of Dexter we have cooked and enjoyed have surpassed any of these.

If we were to offer any criticism it is that we have nearly emptied the freezer and you as yet haven’t supplied the next lot.

When it comes to cooking, your meat proves the theory that the better the meat the less cooking it needs. A bit of olive oil, a dash of salt and pepper served “blue” is as good as anything gets! The fat rendered in the baking dish adds to the inherent flavours in a way that surpasses what crackling does for pork.

My choice of beef

This is my choice of beef. I know where it has come from. I can never go back to anonymous supermarket meat. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. Try some of the recipes, like the crockpot beef brisket. Delicious!
